HE DID IT - HE REALLY DID IT!!!!

Sound the alarm - MR. FIX-IT HAS POSTED THE "Yum Yum" VIDEO

Let them eat cupcakes!

PARTY TIME!!!!

Today was my actual first-birthday party. Thanks for all the pretty presents and all the attention that was paid to little ole me. :-)

I got lots of cool toys and neat clothes. And I believe we have put a fork in the food allergy at this point - if Cheerios for breakfast and chocolate cupcakes with icing with red #5 and 1% milk didn't send me into orbit, nothing will.

I especially liked showing off my new trick (climbing the stairs.) Mom told me to get out from under her feet in the kitchen the other night and to follow sister into dad's office. I did that and when sister decided to go upstairs to her room, you got it, I was right on her heels. She didn't realize this until she got to the landing to go up the next set of stairs. Boy, was she surprised to see me there! I know, NOT WITHOUT PARENTAL SUPERVISION from now on, but it sure was fun to see the look on mom's face.

Mr. Fix-it is going to upload a slideshow in this post (hopefully before going to bed tonight) so check back later if there aren't the cutest pictures you've ever seen right after this sentence.

One in the books!

From RGT 1st B-day

TODAY IS MY DAY!!! I got to wear the Birthday Princess Hat!

Ok - so it has been March since the last post, but about the only eventful "post worthy" happening was Cleo's passing and sister handled that on her site. Not much use crying over spilt milk at this point - haven't got but one cat now, so it would take twice as long to lick it up anyway.

My "Year in review"

"Had a baby, built a house, changed jobs, and trying to sell a house."

If I hear dad tell that story one more time.....Anyway, Mom and Dad have "adjusted" fairly well to the "new normal" with me here. I've been very good, so far.

They've still not settled into the new digs, but considering I'm just turning one, I didn't have a lot to pack and unpack - unlike the rest of the family. I think they have boxes for their boxes....

Dad has a new day everyday at work and that keeps him on his toes. Next year will be mom's year since she's moving from 1st grade to 4th grade - which means new room, new school, new attitude, new kids. But, she's going to be with her same principal and running buddies at the new school. Sister will also have to go to a new school since we aren't "zoned" for Joyner. She will go to Parkway, which is real silly since we will have to drive past Thomas Street Elementary to get there, but then again, I'm not a highly compensated consultant.

As for the trying to sell a house... well, NO SUCH LUCK, yet. "Change we can believe in" is only showing up in the deferred compensation retirement plan. It's taken a pretty nice nest egg and made an omelet of it.

"Milestones and accomplishments"

I have had to develop my own style of crawling and getting around with these hard as, well they are, concrete floors. Who in their right mind builds a house while they are pregnant and doesn't put ANY carpet down? That has to be Unconstitutional or at least against the Geneva Convention.

After a few good knots on the head, I learned to throw my arms up and use them to lessen the blow from rolling over. As for crawling, it is more like a half crawl half walk. Who can expect me to crawl gracefully in a dress. Sis didn't walk until she was 17 months old, but I'm thinking about taking off any day now. After all, my room is upstairs - again, how much planning went into this house?

Food has been... how can I put this in case someone is eating while surfing the blog... any Blood, Sweat and Tears fans out there? Just switch the lyrics to "what goes down must come up." After much blood work and doctor's bills looks like I'm not going to have to live off of formula, sweet potatoes and green peas. Thanks to MiMi Carol, we have now tried most everything except rice flour and oatmeal. Pasta and other grains are staying put now and I'm not having "hay fever" symptoms as much. I even had chocolate cupcakes for my birthday party at Mimi's today.

I guess when you get down to it that's about it. Mom and dad have ridden this bike before and Sis is still tolerant of me. That may all change in a few weeks when I get more mobile, but she'll have to deal with it 'cause I'm the baby. (And I know it.)

So far I've only been to Tennessee and Alabama and while dad is talking about a "vacation" to Kentucky, I'll believe it when I see it. We are headed to the Coast again this summer, but that is a "working" trip. I made the trip last year at only 6-weeks old. Mom and dad were crazy...still are...

I won't even lie and say I'll try to post more often. With Mom and Dad on facebook and Sis on Nick and Disney, I'm lucky to ever be able to post.

We are having my official party this weekend at the mud pit (what I call our new digs) Mr. Fix-it has no green thumb and keeps blaming it on needing dirt. There is plenty of dirt - it's just a little wet. Guess diapers and daycare is more important than what the neighbors think. He'll get there eventually.

I'll post more pics and possibly some video - still have to post the video of me taking my allergy medicine - hil-larious!

Thanks to all who have helped mom and dad "deal with it" especially Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Traci. I like when y'all babysit cause I get my way. :-)

Check back around the first of the week for more pics.

Highbrow Artsy Thing....

OK... So Mr. Fix-it finally got the DSL going, but still hasn't had "time" to post my video. But then again, between trying to level the yard, and cleaning up after me and my "food intolerance" issues - (can't call them allergies, cause I've passed every test I've been given and good grief - HOW MANY TESTS REQUIRE BLOOD!!! I'm going to end up being anemic!)there hasn't been a lot of "time" left over. But I must say the yard is looking better - not great, but better.

Anyway from the pictures below, you can tell I haven't missed many bottles, or meals that don't include grains or rice flour. Big sis is the food ingredients checker and has kept mom from "poisoning" me on more than one occasion.

Anyway, back to the "hoghbrow artsy thing".... Apparently big sis can color with the best of them. This is her second year to have a piece exhibited at the Gumtree Museum of Art. To me it was just another opportunity to dress up and look cute. I got to see Ms Mary and hang out with the rest of the Tutor's and Miller's. Caroline (Uncle Chris' niece) also had a piece in the exhibit. Pictures of their pieces are over on sis' page.

Well, here's a slide show of me being cute. Enjoy.

Hanging out with Dede

We went to Hatley Saturday night and Dede and I had a little quality-time together. I like his new beard.

STILL NO VIDEO!!!

Ok, Mr. Fix-it says he's ordered our DSL this week - we'll see. One more week - then I guess his excuse will be - "But I don't have a desk"

Anyway, I turn 9 months old this week or 3/4 of a year old!

Dad took this pic this weekend at grandma and granddaddy's. Go ahead and say it - "how cute..." I know.
I can only keep a straight face so long. I like sticking my tongue out and rolling my eyes just when dad thinks he has the perfect pic. See....

Maybe I can finally post that video sometime this weekend - Maybe... TTFN

Still no high speed, BUT CHECK THIS OUT

BIG GIRL SEAT!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally get to see where I'm going versus where I've been!!!!!!! The world sure looks different coming at you. Mr. fix-it still is draggin on the high speed service. We do now at least have a land line phone. Whatever that's worth in this day of cell-centered communication...

Technology

Ok the move is taking longer than expected from a tech standpoint. Dad is dragging around on getting a formal desk set up in his office. He keeps sanding on this old metal desk that he found God knows where and keeps talking about what a great desk it is going to make. So for now we have no high-speed connection (using cellphone to connect to web and post is not my cup of tea). I have some killer video to post "but it takes too long...." UGH! We do have a temporary land line stretched across the backyard, but Mr. Fix-it hasn't wired it into the house yet. I'm thinking this weekend would be a good time to pitch a fit bad enough to send him outside all weekend. At least we now have a permanent satellite connection for the TV and not the "camping" setup Mr. Fix-it had strung across the backyard for the past 2 months! (BTW satellite is still laying in backyard - too muddy or frozen, you pic. Mr. F uses both as excuses) Still no grass either. I live in a cold mud puddle. Can't wait till spring - MUD PIE PARTY!!!!

For now the few stills of me and my tub from last post will have to do. Just a tease of the video - I CANNOT STAND THIS MEDICINE I HAD TO TAKE FOR MY COLD!!! YUCK!

Spa Day

Getting used to the new house. Here I am bathing in my new "tub".

WOW! Actual baby toys! No more "5-finger mobile". I have actual TOYS. Nothing designed to make "learning" fun either. Fine motor skills my... oops almost said something to start me out on "naughty" list. this is going to be hard- a whole year?

More details and pictures to follow.

My First Christmas Parade

Ok - not sure what the point in getting out of a nice warm house on such a cold breezy day to watch people wave was, but all-in-all I had fun.

This horse was my favorite.

The parade was just a tad bit long, if you ask me.

ME TOO!

Dad had to take Dede to Memphis for eye surgery - sister sent him with instructions to update her blog for her, but she didn't give him my notes or pictures for my site so I guess I'll just have to do it myself after everyone else goes to sleep. Maybe dad will leave his laptop on.

Who knows, maybe I'll do something to get cutie pie pictures from the ER too! :~|

There have been times these past 6 months that I've wanted a one-way ticket back to my happy place!!!

Good grief - I know what they mean now by you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family. Do these people NOT do anything that isn't stressful and high drama????? I mean - kick back and relax some people. I bet I can count (if I could) on one hand the number of "lazy days" I've had since I got here!

They all look at me and grin and say she's so laid back - a chihuahua drinking espresso shots from Starbucks would be laid back around these people! All I ask for is a nice quiet rainy (after dad gets the yard fixed - the neighbors and I have been chatting online after everyone goes to sleep) weekend that we DO NOTHING. No shopping for blinds,or door knobs(although a mattress would be nice), or going here and there and everywhere! I just want EVERYONE TO HUSH and let the baby veg-out.

They even are trying to stress me out - I have this little place they put me. It is nice and thanks to the Robinson Clan for loaning it to me and to Ms. Beth for getting it to us, BUT there is all this STUFF to do and I'm not even mobile enough to move from one place to another but this darn thing has a swivel seat that when I lean back to "veg out" bam it moves me to another task!!! Enough! They call themselves trying to develope my, what does mom call it "fine motor skills" - The joy of being a TK - Teacher's Kid. Fine motor skills is kicking back to the Spa Channel on Sirus while dad drives us somewhere.

So now I'm messing with them. You should see the funny faces and noises they make when I nod my head.... tooo funny. And it is even better when "Yes" isn't the right answer! They are so funny.

I still haven't figured out the whole posting pictures like sis has, but maybe JUST MAYBE dad will notice that I've posted this and help me out by posting some of my Grove pics or my Bumble Bee Halloween pic.

Anyways, I'm out.

Cousin Molly's 6th B-day Party

You can't tell it from these pics, but there was a big party at Meme & Dede's this weekend for Molly - water slide, ice cream cake and lots of presents. Since the water was cold, I was pretty much a wallflower. But here are some pics dad shot of me. Other "action" shots are over on sis' page

A Perfect 10

Well, 10 POUNDS!

Today was my 2 month check-up with Dr. G. I DO NOT LIKE SHOTS!!! I love Tylenol though. Everything else was fine too. I am now 22 inches tall. Getting ready for the Fourth of July.

Here are some pics we took at Grandmaw and Grandaddy's last weekend:

Eat-Sleep-Poop-Repeat

Not much to report here. I've been being wagged around like a baby for the past 2 weeks. But then again, I am a baby....

As the heading suggest - not much to photograph here. All sleeping babies look the same, how many pictures can one look at of a baby taking a bottle and you don't want a picture of the last part. YUCK! We may have to tip the garbage men this week!

I am one with the car seat.

What a weekend! I went to something called a wedding - apparently I have to remain protected in my car seat at such an event. Then on Sunday I made my first road trip to Ripley to Grandmaw and Grandaddy's. But that was just a warm up for Monday - SIX AND A HALF HOURS IN MY CAR SEAT!!!

We are basking in the sun (although it rained today) of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We are staying at the beautiful Beau Rivage - reminds me a lot of the birthing suite at NMMC, but we don't get hourly visits from the nursing staff. I hope we are able to get some beach time in tomorrow and I'll be sure to stay in the shade (no phone calls from grandmothers please) I have a hat, shades, beach umbrella and baby approved sun screen.

Tummy Time

My favorite pastime is tummy time. Mom and I had a rather lengthy session on Sunday and tonight I talked dad in to a little. Big sis joined us while mom was at Wal-Mart.

We had spend-the-night company last night. Emily came to see Lou. They seemed to have a really good time. Can't wait until I can sleep on the pallet with them and watch movies!

Getting into a rhythm

Well, this past week has flown by. I think I've finally started feeling better. It is easier for me to stay awake, play and eat. I've become quite the TV junkie - I like watching Food Network - especially Alton Brown. I think he's on at like 2:30 when I'm up (hehehe) Then mom and I watch the anchors getting ready on Fox News.

I've been to Tupelo a couple of times this week - mostly to look at the new house and see what has been done. I'll let Laura continue to do the updates on the house, so check out her blog for that.

I have a photo shoot scheduled for Monday for 1 month pics. I'll be sure to post them.

Guess that's all for now - be sure to check out sis' blog for her 6th b-day pics (man is she old)

Johnson's take me away...

Ok, they say I'm too young to use Calgon, but this Johnson's stuff does the trick - and it wasn't even the "bed time" wash with lavender and chamomile!

As you can see from the slide show below, Big Sis and Dad gave me my first bath while mom shot pictures. I wasn't real sure what to expect at first - I had seen the pics from Lou's first bath and it looked somewhat traumatic. Lots of flailing about and gnashing of teeth (gums)

As usual, I had very little to say about the whole ordeal. Lou is more of a 'drama queen' than me.

I'm pretty practical. I stink - wash me - we're good!

What a week!

Discharged from the bili monitoring yesterday. And today - NO BELLY BUTTON THINGY! Time for a real bath! (I was starting to need a good soak.)

Payback!

Got even with mom for the "ET incident" last night. Couldn't wait until I start babyfood, so it wasn't green peas, but I think I did manage a 360 with my head and spewed! And to top it off it was at 2 AM!!!

That'll teach her!

FREE AT LAST!

I AM DISCHARGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bili was at 11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

I'm requesting an unlisted number...

Ok, it is not cool to "treat" a newborn who has spent 10 of 14 days on Earth either on top of or under bright lights to a viewing of ET, but that is exactly what mom and big sis Laura did last night. It was bad enough having to have blinders velcroed to my head, but now that the lights are finally out, I'm freaked out that Laura might have some little creature in her closet that's trying to "phone home" or that my finger is going to start glowing!

I guess we'll celebrate my rolling over or gaining better motor control of my neck with a viewing of poltergeist!

On a "brighter" note (got to love the "light" humor)... had my 2-week well-baby check today. As expected, my bili level was up a bit since we are off the light. Still on the frequent flier program - have to go back Thursday. I got to see Georgia P. at the doctors' office today. She uses a different doctor, but they are in the same office. Mom and us girls were going by to meet everyone at dad's work, but it came a FLOOD in Tupelo, and mom had to get us fed, which turned out to be drive-thru at Chick-fil-A.

Well, we'll have another chance to see dad's office Thursday - on our way back from the CLINIC - UGH!!! (we better - I heard dad say that Georgia P. was there today!)

Off to work on motor skills - They say that arms and legs are supposed to be controllable. Mine are, I just don't know who's in control of them.
